Dan O’Connell is Chairman of the Board [former President] at Swan Morss Company [part of The Dunn Group]. He specializes in commercial property and casualty and group insurance plans. He holds a degree in marketing and management from Siena College and obtained his CPCU designation in 1991.
Dan’s insurance industry involvement spans nearly 40 years, and includes the National Agency Advisory Council for Progressive Insurance and past Chairman of the Adirondack Insurance Advisory Council. Dan is a former member of the Erie & Niagara, Travelers, Preferred Mutual and Commercial Union Insurance Councils.
Dan’s community involvement includes current board service for Southern Tier Economic Growth, the Elmira City Loan Committee, and the Elmira City School Audit Committee. Board service in the past have included Glove House, The Clemens Center, Sullivan Trail Chapter of The American Red Cross, St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation and The United Way of the Southern Tier, Chemung County Chamber of Commerce and the Chemung County YMCA.
Dan and his wife reside in the Elmira, NY area.
